For me it’s a tie between the Psalms and Job. Job is the existentialist component of Christian consideration, and David the Psalmist complements him perfectly but God speaks through both in a most beautifully absolute way. I love the exchange of emotion. It’s relatable always to our experience.

When it comes to the NT, I can’t pick a favourite because the mystery of salvation is perfectly written.

Probably Revelation, but 2 Maccabees and John are close.

I think the Book of Revelation would be my favourite reading ever though.

I love Psalms, Ruth, and Esther. Also the entire New Testament is beautiful. I love reading about the life of Jesus and the early Church. 😊 God bless.

If I had to pick one book, it would be Romans. This (in my opinion) is nothing less than Paul’s preaching of the Gospel.

My personal favorite is St. Luke’s Gospel. It has many of my favorite Parables, the actual lessons taught by The Lord to His Apostles. And if you put it together with the Book of Acts, which is actually the second part of St. Luke’s book, you get a very good account of the very early Church. I also love the Epistle of St. James. From the Old Testament, I am somewhat partial to Isiah and many of the Psalms ( the 23rd and 51st come to mind as among the Psalms that really speak to me).

I like each of the books between (and including) Genesis and Revelation.

My favorite is the Song of Songs. It contains such a poetic description of pure love along with stunning imagery. The relationship between the Lover and the Beloved reflect sthe same intimacy which God has with the soul. There are also many descriptions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I like Tobit because it has a funny chapter which is chapter 6 of the book. Tobias was using fish organs for magic and to cure people from demons.

The book of Psalms. There’s a near infinite amount of wisdom therein. It’s got lots of poetic language, which make it stand out from most other books of the Bible. Many chapters are about seeking God’s protection from one’s enemies; and that has struck a chord with me. The book of Psalms never gets old.

My book is Ephesians. It explains marriage. It gives us the WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD. And…
EPHESIANS 3:17. Paul’s prayerfor us.

I too like the armory section of Ephesians 6, 13-17. For the Old Testament version of those verses, check out Wis 5, 16-23.

Genesis. I love the creation story and everything about that book.

My favorites would probably have to be the book of Psalms and the Gospel according to St. John.

I haven’t read to much of the other books of the Bible sadly.

But my favorite book of the Bible so far is Genesis as I am amazed by the symbolism and depth of this book.

So far I have read Genesis, Exodus, The gospel of John, and some parts of psalms and Job.

Maybe I will try to read another book this week.

How to choose? How to choose? Maybe Genesis, maybe John. I think Romans in my favorite from St. Paul. But there’s plenty of the OT I haven’t read yet.

Lately I’ve been loving Judges, surprisingly. I kind of get why it’s not as popular, but it’s actually fascinating! Very mysterious, and a strange time for Israel. Some parts are hard though. It’s probably the Book I hear mentioned the least, and I don’t get why. Some interesting Marian parallels too!
