I was wondering what are your favorite books on the Eucharist and why? I like the Eymard Library.

Ave Maria!

I second the vote for the entire St. Peter Julian Eymard library.
Next I like “Come to Me in the Blessed Sacrament” by Fr. Martin Lucia. There is “With Us Today” by Fr. John Hardon and then
“My Eucharistic Love” Fr. Fr. Stefano Manelli.

Others I like from my library are:
The Eucharist by Fr. Lawrence Lovasik
Before the Altar by Ven. Conception Cabrera de Armida
The Holy Eucharist by St. Alphonsus Liguori

to name a few.

Those are some great books you listed. I also like Eucharistic Miracles, by Tan.

I also like the Hidden Manna. The Lamb’s Supper (Scott Hahn).

Here are two old books that I found through interlibrary loan:

The Holy Mass : the sacrifice for the living and the dead, the clean oblation offered up among the nations from the rising to the setting of the sun

by Michael Muller
publication date: 1875

A history of the Mass and its ceremonies in the Eastern and Western Church
by John O’Brien
publication date:1879

Yes, the publication dates are not misprints!

I’m currently reading God is Near Us: The Eucharist, the Heart of Life by Cardinal Ratzinger ( Pope Benedict XVI) It’s really good, but it’s basically the first book I’ve read on the subject.

I have this book but I have not gotten around to reading it yet.

I’ve only read the Scott Hahn book (The Lamb’s Supper) and it is daggum good.

I really like. It’s not too hard to understand, it’s to the point, and it’s in the same style as Deus Caritas Este (for obvious reasons). And it’s not too long. Hope you get around to reading it! 🙂

“The Mass of the Early Christians” (author’s name escapes me right now)…

Eucharistic Miracles by Joan Carroll Cruz.

It reinforces the mystery of the Eucharist,

How about “With Us Today” by Fr. John Hardon S.J. ? Has anyone read that? If so what’s your take on that book?

Br. Rich SFO:
The Holy Eucharist by St. Alphonsus Liguori
I have that book too, awesome. Have you ever read St. Alphonsus Liguori’s book on the Passion of Christ? That’s a GREAT book too.

Code:
i like the 2nd most read book after the Bible:
The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis.
Before becoming Catholic, i asked my Methodist
pastor and best friend, what other books should
i read and this is what he recommended. The 4th
Book or section deals with Holy Communion and
 it's definitely Catholic.
