The Albert Finney version of Christmas Carol-- called ‘Scrooge’, sadly enough. Otherwise, first rate: you both understand how Scrooge got that way, and believe his transformation when it happens.

Ghost of Christmas Present gives him a drink which he likes very much, asks what it’s called.

“The Milk of Human Kindness” answers the Ghost.

“I’ve never tasted anything like it”, says Scrooge…
This is also my personal favorite. My kids love it too. We’re suckers for musicals.

Speaking as someone who’s “So Goth she’s Catholic”, to use a Goth one-liner joke, Nightmare Before Christmas has to be the most flexible late-in-the-year holiday movie: you can watch it on Hallowe’en and see it one way, and watch it at Christmas and look at it another way. I love it! I also recommend it to people trying to understand the Gothic mentality/subculture…
