What is your favorite comedy film?

I like “The Gods Must Be Crazy” and “Private Benjamin” for starts, off the top of my head. Ohh, “Shrek” …can’t forget that one.

Theres something about Mary is my top. My favorite line is when Marys step dad comes in the washroom to see Ted and says`, ``whats the problem here, what did you do s___ yourself?" and Ted says “oh, I wish.” You know what ever situation you are in is really bad, when s____ing yourself is something you’d wish for…
 
Speaking of devilishly funny moved…BEDAZZLED with Brenden Fraser Elizabeth Hurley is hilarious. Love that movie. 👍

There were several funny moments in that film!
 
Overboard! with Goldie Hawn. Troop Beverly Hills with Shelley Long. A friend always named Down and Out in Beverly Hills-Bette Midler every time the subject of best comedy came up-I’ve never seen that one. Bob Hopes comedies were always good. Present day movies–I draw a blank right now.
 
Anything Mel Brooks. I am pretty lowbrow on the comedy movie scale. Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, History of the World Part 1…

Hands down, my favorite comedy of all time is “The Court Jester” staring Danny Kaye. It got me through an extremely rough year of surgery after surgery. My family loves almost all of the Abbott & Costello films, and my 10 yr old says that “Hold That Ghost” is is favorite. We also really like “Arsenic and Old Lace” starring Carey Grant.

Our favorite more modern flicks are the Wallace & Gromit shorts; The Croods (really isn’t crude), The Princes Bride, and the Back to the Future trilogy.

I remember “The Court Jester” with Danny Kaye. That’s the film containing the hilarious, tongue-twisting the “pellet-with-the-poison’s-in-the-vessel-with-the-pestle” scene.
