What is your favorite comedy film?

It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World. When Jimmy Durante kicked the bucket in the first scene, you knew it was going to be good.

I think that this has to be one of the funniest movies that was ever made!

I think that they tried to just about get every big name in comedy that they could to be in that movie, back at that time.

I loved Dick Shawn in that movie, too. He was so funny!

Another movie that I laughed my whole way through with was the animated film, Despicable Me.

Speaking of devilishly funny moved…BEDAZZLED with Brenden Fraser Elizabeth Hurley is hilarious. Love that movie.

As irreverent as they may be, I find Kevin Smith’s comedies smart and funny.

Several others I could add if the genre were Musical Comedy instead of Straight (heh) Comedy, but I’ll leave them off for now.

40 years later in *Trading Places *when Dan Ackroyd goes to the club to appeal to his friends, a young woman – We can only presume it is the actress credited as “Bunny” – Is just finishing a story: "…and she stepped on the ball!"

Yes, you reminded me of Galaxy Quest!

The first time that I saw that movie, I remember that I was up late one night and I couldn’t sleep and had the TV on, so I decided to watch it, and I just laughed so hard through the whole movie!

Others beat to Mad, Mad World and other favorites.

Not mentioned so far: What About Bod is hilarious. Richard Dreyfuss is majorly funny as an egotisical psychiatrist.

For black comedy RED and RED II (Anthony Hopkins stole the show) and Love at First Bite–so many funny scenes and one liners in them!

Out to Sea with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau–their last film together. Also The Odd Couple and all their other comedy films.

Barefoot in the Park with the handsome Robert Redford turing in an excellent comedic performance, as well as in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

The Laurel and Hardy films are priceless, of course. Abbot and Costello made some pretty good ones, too, but they weren’t consistently good (due to studio pick of projects).

Six Days Seven Nights was fun–not great but fun.

If I think if more I’ll post 'em.

“Clerks”. It’s from a bygone era. (Video stores.) I didn’t like “Clerks 2” or “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,” but “Clerks” is a you-had-to-be-there (or you won’t get a lot of the humor) sorta movie that comes along very rarely.
