In terms of “standard” hymns I think my favourite is “Sweet Sacrament Divine” (Hymn-tune: ‘Divine Mystery’). A beautiful Eucharistic text and the music suits the words! This would be closely followed by another Eucharistic hymn - “Soul of my Saviour”. I also love some of those very strong English hymns such as “Praise to the Holiest” (hymn-tune: ‘Billing’) and “Alleluia, Sing to Jesus” (Hyfrydol). Must not forget “The King of Love” (St Columba)…There are so many to choose from!

I couldn’t pick out a favourite chant as any chant sung well is beautiful. “Adoro te devote” and “Tantum ergo/Pange Lingua” are lovely.

A List of Mine:

Adoro Te Devote
Credo III (modus V)
Veni Creator Spiritus
Regina Caeli
Salve Regina
Sabat Mater Dolorosa
Te Deum
Praeconium Pascale (Exultet)
Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus
Miserere Mei Deus (Psalm 50 (51))
O Sanctissima
Pange Lingua
Ave Maria
Sub tuum Praesidium
Tu es Petrus
Holy, Holy, Holy
All Creatures of our God and King
For all the saints
Holy God we Praise thy name
Praise to the Lord
Let all Mortal Flesh keep Silence
Sing of Mary
Alleluia! Sing to Jesus
Parce Domine
Quicumque
Lift High the Cross
Ave Regina Caelorum
Hail Holy Queen (non chant)
Immaculate Mary
Sent forth by God’s Blessing
O salutaris
(any of the antiphons [in chant] for the Mass or Office)

Technically it’s not a hymn (it’s a sequence) but:

Victimae paschali laudes
immolent Christiani
Agnus redemit oves:
Christus innocens Patri
Reconciliavit peccatores.
Mors et vita duello conflixere mirando,
Dux vitae mortuus, regnat vivus.
Dic nobis Maria, quid vidisti in via?
Sepulcrum Christi viventis,
Et gloriam vidi resurgentis:
Angelicos testes, sudarium et vestes.
Surrexit Christus spes mea:
Praecedet vos in Galilaeam.
Scimus Christum surrexisse
a mortuis vere:
Tu nobis, victor Rex, miserere.
Amen. Alleluia.

EUCHARISTIC HYMN OF ST THOMAS AQUINAS

PANGE lingua gloriosi
Corporis mysterium,
Sanguinisque pretiosi,
quem in mundi pretium
fructus ventris generosi
Rex effudit Gentium.

SING, my tongue, the Savior’s glory,
of His flesh the mystery sing;
of the Blood, all price exceeding,
shed by our immortal King,
destined, for the world’s redemption,
from a noble womb to spring.

Nobis datus, nobis natus
ex inacta Virgine,
et in mundo conversatus,
sparso verbi semine,
sui moras incolatus
miro clausit ordine.

Of a pure and spotless Virgin
born for us on earth below,
He, as Man, with man conversing,
stayed, the seeds of truth to sow;
then He closed in solemn order
wondrously His life of woe.

In suprema nocte coenae
recumbus cum fratribus
observata lege plene
cibis in legalibus,
cibum turbae duodenae
se dat suis manibus.

On the night of that Last Supper,
seated with His chosen band,
He the Pascal victim eating,
first fulfills the Law’s command;
then as Food to His Apostles
gives Himself with His own hand.

Verbum caro, panem verum
verbo carnem efficit:
fitque sanguis Christi merum,
et si sensus deficit,
ad firmandum cor sincerum
sola fides sufficit.

Word-made-Flesh, the bread of nature
by His word to Flesh He turns;
wine into His Blood He changes;-
what though sense no change discerns?
Only be the heart in earnest,
faith her lesson quickly learns.

Tantum ergo Sacramentum
veneremur cernui:
et antiquum documentum
novo cedat ritui:
praestet fides supplementum
sensuum defectui.

Down in adoration falling,
Lo! the sacred Host we hail;
Lo! o’er ancient forms departing,
newer rites of grace prevail;
faith for all defects supplying,
where the feeble sense fail.

Genitori, Genitoque
laus et jubilatio,
salus, honor, virtus quoque
sit et benedictio:
procedenti ab utroque
compar sit laudatio.

Amen. Alleluia.
To the everlasting Father,
and the Son who reigns on high,
with the Holy Ghost proceeding
forth from Each eternally,
be salvation, honor, blessing,
might and endless majesty.

Amen. Alleluia.
Oh thank you for posting that! I listen to it on disk of Latin Mass hyms while I’m at work, believe it or not!

I find that Be Not Afraid, You Are Mine, Eagle’s Wings, One Bread, One body, etc. are more of the cookie-cutter ones that always get sung if you know what I mean.

I like the Hosea a lot.

I have many favorites, but here are a few:
  1. O God Beyond All Praising (Thaxted) - had this played at my wedding mass - it’s my all-time favorite
  2. Ye Sons and Daughters (O filii et filiae melody)
  3. Adoro Te Devote
  4. Love Divine, All Loves Excelling (Hyfrydol) Played at an Andante - don’t like it when it’s taken too fast.
  5. Salve Regina
  6. The King of Love My Shepherd Is
  7. Lord, of All Hopefulness (also played at an Andante)
  8. He Comes to Us As One Unknown
  9. Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence
  10. Panis Angelicus
  11. Pange Lingua
And of course many Christmas and other Easter Hymns

I know choirs usually sing these, but I’ll add them:
  1. Spem in Alium - Tallis
    youtube.com/watch?v=U2tEt5q7Glo
  2. Ave Maria - G. Faure and by Biebl (Although I love other settings of it as well)
    Here’s the Biebl
    youtube.com/watch?v=dVBsNUXg_YM
Faure wrote a couple of settings, but I couldn’t find the one I really like on-line.
  1. Ave Verum Corpus - Mozart and G. Faure
  2. Laudate Dominum - Mozart
  3. Sicut Cervus - Palestrina
    youtube.com/watch?v=VhpQgOpFEsY
  4. Maria Magdalena - Gabrielli (Not a great recording)
    youtube.com/watch?v=H5IED6M7X68
  5. Magnificat - A bunch of them.
    -Two by M. Charpentier

How Firm a Foundation

and

Holy God, We Praise Thy Name

I don’t think I will ever grow tired of listening to those two:D .

Mine would be " Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence"
I think it really illustrates how amazing and miraculous the Eucharist truly is.

Two Irish hymns are my favourites:

Rop tú mo baile/ Be Thou my Vision by St. Dallan
Caoineadh Na Maighdine/ The Virgin’s Lament

I also love:
Nearer my God to Thee
O Lord my God
Make me an instrument of Your peace
