It is not so much excellent to know Latin as it is a shame to not know it.

I love the phrase, “Retro Satana!” “Get thee behind me, Satan!” (Yes, I did retain something from my Latin days. :p) I use it whenever I feel tempted to sin and I know I shouldn’t.

What is truth**? -Spoken by Pilate at Jesus’ trial. It always gets me- here Pilate had Jesus before him, The Way, The Truth, and The Life, and he didn’t recognize Him. A great point of reflection in my personal life.

Vah! Denuone Latine loquebar? Me ineptum. Interdum modo elabitur - Oh! Was I speaking Latin again? Silly me. Sometimes it just sort of slips out.
