I thought I was the only one who blends my faith with others to aid me to be faithful to our Lord!!! I tend to mix (Vajrayana and Mahayana) Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, LDS, and SOME New Age practices.šŸ™‚
Why would the Lord, who is all about Truth, want you to add falsehoods to His story? Isn’t He enough? His words? Why add to it? Not trying to be combative… just trying to understand where you are coming from.

I am not adding to the Most Holy Truth. I am just using the practices of the beliefs I have listed above. I do meditate (though on the Divine Wisdom that is Christ) (Buddhism) , practice bodily cleanliness and militant devotion to the Church (Sikhism), devotion to Scriptures (Judaism), unbashfulness witness to my Catholic Faith (LDS), and a need to help our fellow man with the Truth and earthly help for the clueless (New Age). I do not add to the Truth that is Christ but incorporate praxis of other religions to my own.

I was raised believing in Catholicism, but now I’m atheist 😃
Shadow Fire,

That just shows us that you never knew Jesus and the faith you claim to have been brought up in. Good luck on your journey. If you stay open, the truth will find you.

Take care.

If the Catholic faith was non-existant, I would be Methodist.
If the Catholic faith was non-existent, then Methodism would not exist! Indeed, Christianity itself would be non-existent as it was the CC that preserved Christ’s teachings for all.

Nevertheless, I get the OP’s question and in the spirit of it, I’d answer that I’d be Jewish. I remember love, love, LOVING the children’s books by Sydney Taylor in the ā€œAll-of-a-Kind Familyā€ series–a story about 5 sisters and 1 brother growing up Jewish in the tenements of NYC in the turn of the century. I’ve been intrigued by Judaism since then.

Interestingly enough, Catholicism is the fulfillment of Judaism, so in a sense, I am Jewish!

If I weren’t Catholic, I’d probably be Eastern Orthodox, or else Anglican. Here in Ireland, we have the Church of Ireland (which is Anglican) and they have a lot in common with us Catholics, for example they’ve got bishops, saints and have a bit of devotion to the Virgin Mary (which is surprising for Protestants šŸ˜‰ !) The Orthodox Churches seem nice, and have alot in common with Catholisicm. If I weren’t Christian though, I dunno probaby Judaism.

God Bless :blessyou:
