I am very excited as I begin the RCIA very soon. I have been reading these forums and praying alot and i feel very lucky to have found the church. I wanted to know what are your favorite prayers to say, and also what prayers center you in a stressfull time. God Bless:signofcross: :signofcross:

Warm congratulations! I thank God for bringing you to His Church and ask the Holy Spirit to guide and protect you and your faith always!
What leapt to mind is to say over a few times,
Jesus, I trust in You.
Speak to Jesus naturally as your dearest Friend

For you, I pray:

“ Out of His infinite glory, may He give you the power through His Spirit for your hidden self to grow strong, so that Christ may live in your hearts through faith, and then, planted in love and built on love, you will with all the saints have strength to grasp the breadth and the length, the height and the depth; until, knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond all knowledge, you are filled with the utter fullness of God.”
“Glory be to Him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine; glory be to Him from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.” [Ephesians 3: 14-21]

“I have chosen you, not rejected you, do not be afraid for I am with you; stop being anxious and watchful for I am your God. I give you strength, I bring you help, and I uphold you with my victorious right hand” [Isaiah 41:9-10]

“A blessing on the individual who puts his trust in the Lord, with the Lord for his hope. He is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream.” [Jeremiah 17:7-8]

I wish you the greatest blessings and joy…Trishie 🙂

Extending a warm welcome to the ‘family’ 😃

The Holy Mass if my primary source of sustenance.

The Holy Rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and the Liturgy of the Hours are my ‘spiritual staples’ for daily devotions.

What keeps me rooted in trials is the end prayer for the Chaplet of Divine Mercy:

** Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen
**

You will be in my prayers that the Lord will illumine and guide your spiritual journey. :getholy:

Congratuolations, how exciting for you!!
My favorite prayer, besides the Mass is also the same prayer that centers me in times of stress - the Holy Rosary. I also love spending time with Jesus in Adoration. (You can do that too you know, you don’t have to wait until you are received into the Church.) You can adore Him, pray, just sit there and listen, read some spiritual works, or just silently talk to Him.
I love just about any prayer I’ve ever read or prayed.
Welcome Home!!

Many of the above, but the Lord’s Prayer and Act of Contrition are big ones in my book…
