“Billie Jean”, " Beat It", “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me”, " Little Red Corvette",
“Flashdance” to name a few.

I interpreted your question as meaning “favorite song that came out in 1983” because my actual favorite song of 1983 may have come out in some previous year. I listened to dozens of songs a week back then, it’s hard to remember.

With respect to 1983 new releases, I’m embarrassed to admit it now because I ended up only liking about 2 songs by this band and got really sick of them when they went commercial, and sick of them all over again when they showed up on the “Donnie Darko” soundtrack, but at the time this came out, they were the big new underground thing and this song could only be heard on college radio in my area and was considered very hip and cutting edge.

The girl I was dating in 1983 was the oldest of seven kids (good Catholic family 😄). This song always reminds me of spending time at her crowded house

Every Breath You Take…Sting::----The Police 🦋🦋

Prince tried to pick up my wife shortly before that album came out.

She rejected him. 😁

Heaven 17: ‘Temptation’. (But if it were me from 1983 answering it would be Men At Work’s ‘Land Down Under.’)
