What a coincidence that this topic has come up! My mother-in-law was recently trying to remember the word for such short prayers.
She finally came up with it: “aspiration”
The classification which I had once heard was “ejaculation”, but until this thread came along I could not recall the word.
As far as I can tell, ejaculation = aspiration. Would everybody agree? I cannot find any official reference that indicates this, though.
By the way, I suppose my most commonly prayed one is: “Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner”.
