I especially like the version of How Great Thou Art sung by Dixie Carter of “Designing Women”. Gives me goose bumps every time I hear it. My dog is named “Amazing Grace” in honor of that hymn.

BTW - For the OP, I finally learned this one just this year, what with all the diminished and augmented chords. Maybe that is why it I put it down as number one for now. Nothing like messing around on the piano to really lift one’s spirits. Good idea for the thread.

I was going to pick this one until I flipped the page and saw it taken. Besides, half the songs here have been my favorite at one time or another. I will sing this one in four weeks, and already looking forward to it. 👍
 
Dear Lord and Father of Mankind is an old favourite from childhood.

“Let me be a channel of your peace”.

And “As a deer panteth for water”.

I never get tired of songs or stories that praise the Lord, no
matter how repetitous they get.

This hymn was used throughout the film “Bernadette” – the version that they show at Lourdes with Sydney Penny playing St. Bernadette. In the film, only deep chimes play the melody; there is no singing. I finally found the hymn a couple weeks ago when our parish children’s choir sang it. I love it especially because gentleness is so rare these days, especially in the cities, and it is such a lovely tribute to Our Lady. ❤️
