Isaiah 44:6 has a context, like every other book. It’s sad when Christians take out a word or a sentence and give it a meaning, without considering what the writers meant. If you go to verse 8 of Isaiah, God speaks about those who trusts in idols, but proclaims Himself as the only True God. By stating that He is God, He is not implying that He is only one person. If you go further down, in verse 22-24 it says:If you read all of my previous postings, you would not have to ask this question. I referred to Isaiah 44:6, and agree with it. This 'defines ‘God’.![]()
I have swept away your offenses like a cloud,
your sins like the morning mist.
Return to me,
for I have redeemed you.
Sing for joy, O heavens, for the LORD has done this;
shout aloud, O earth beneath.
Burst into song, you mountains,
you forests and all your trees,
for the LORD has redeemed Jacob,
he displays his glory in Israel.
God says, I have redeemed you. Jesus’ death on the cross is his act of redeeming mankind. verse 23 says, the LORD has done this, and how has he done this we might ask, but through his Son, Jesus the eternal Word. He has displayed His glory to Israel.
