You exressed my sentiments pretty well. For all the talk of these female “artists” and how “empowering” it is, it is actually conforming to the mainstream and is very conventional. I view Pink in the same way. (ie all the talk about “girl power” What is so empowering about her music anyway?)
I find it really sad how ironically unempowering so much of the “girl power” movement in the entertainment industry is. Between the cosmetic procedures, the oversexualization, rejection of gender roles, etc., they are effectively alienating many girls from their true womanhood and helping to dismantle the family, and consequently our society, as well.

Also, I added to my post since you last read it. Since you agree with what I wrote already, thought you might agree with this as well:
Even though I disagree with alot of their views and their music and performance is a lot more “offensive” than Lady Gaga’s, I have 100 times more respect for them, because they are actually trying to make a serious statement. Lady Gaga’s just trying to court controversy and build a cult of personality. To put it very bluntly (and crudely): she’s an attention whore.
If I had children, I would let them listen to Skinny Puppy long before I let them listen to Lady Gaga. I don’t think she has any real “message”. The “everyone is special” sentiment, true as at is, is one I personally think she spouts as another part of her campaign for fame, as now she’s a “role model”, too. That message is already preached in every day care, elementary school and public institution in America. I don’t need a woman dressed like a lava lamp to affirm my or my hypothetical childrens’ self worth.

Whats really sad is that I have read she was a cradle Catholic.
Yes she was raised Catholic. And she believes in God, and she says shes ‘spiritual’, but obviously she is not really a Catholic anymore.

She’s a talentless hack who compensates for her lack of talent by being as controversial as possible. Without auto tune technology, she would still be unknown.
While her music is highly edited, try hearing her sing without that, she actually has a beautiful voice. She does have talent.

Completely disgusted. “For G-d and for the gays!”? Come on. Look at her stage persona as well - between what little I’ve seen of her ostensibly real persona, and the much I’ve seen of her stage persona, a very low opinion. I also can’t stand her music, but much of the little music I do listen to (I’m not a fan of music) is even more un-Christian and immoral (e.g. Blacklisted Me, She Wants Revenge, Depeche Mode, along with the quasi-Christian Flyleaf, Fireflight, Ikon for Hire, Skillet, Nightwatchman and the politically and religiously apathetic classical Baroque music, and the Christian Gregorian chant and many folk songs), so it’s not the content of her music - it’s just bad music - nay, not music, noise. Most dancing music is about as good as the activity it’s meant to support, that is to say, terrible.

About Nightwish, is that that Swedish/Finnish/Danish whatever metal band with the female opera singer? I know a girl who is absolutely crazy about them, especially Tuomo or whatever his name is. I personally can’t stand metal - the riffs grate on my ears, and the hyper-energetic vocals provoke anxiety; I much prefer the very “smooth” and relaxed style of semi-electronic and piano-based music as is exemplified by the better songs of Blacklisted Me (i.e. Reprobate Romance minus the last 40 seconds), She Wants Revenge (True Romance) and Depeche Mode (Enjoy the Silence).

and there’s another article written here:

Both are very deep and get to the root of the evil that lurks behind this woman.

Music is very, very powerful – SPIRITUALLY. If you want to understand that, just do your own research on “The spiritual power of music”.

Yes, everything in this life has a spiritual energy – whether good or bad – and the bad comes with consequences.

The devil is very clever and uses music to seduce. Wasn’t lucifer a musician? (Don’t know but thought I read that.)

If something does not resonate beauty and lift the soul, stay away (IMO).

sarcasm alert

I think there is a good possibility that she, the Cardassian/Kardashian sisters, and some others are actually space aliens masquerading as humans to prove to their leaders that real humans are a bunch of gullible fools.

sarcasm off
The Cardassians are prettier and much more classy, even with the genocide of the Bajorans, than the Kardashians. At least they had a bit of aplomb, and knew how to classify their AV records properly so they didn’t end up on the internet.

I know that she known for her shock art. I was wondering, do you think her music is good to listen to? I know she gives the message of equality for all people, and I think that’s a good thing. Do you think shes a good or bad influence? Would you let your children listen to/watch her music? Do you listen to her? Are you a fan of her message? opinions please
She mocks the Christian faith and morality. She is into being outrageous and encourages her fans to be themselves (and outrageous). She calls her fans “her monsters”. Those who really do follow her have an almost worship like adoration of her. Why would you want to listen and support her? she is very pro-homosexual. whatever message of equality you find is good in her music is definitely drowned out by all the rest. And like some of the other posts, she covers up her lack of talent by being outrageous. There are much better people to listen to than her.

you are not serious are you? She is evil and immoral and find something better to listen to and support.

She is talented and has some good songs I like her and she does some stuff for shock value but so do alot of people.

Pardon but in my book Somone is evil if they kill Somone or along those lines. She has done none of these from what I know.

Be forewarned, I am a bit of a music/art snob, so my commentary won’t be very nice. 😃
Pff, you don’t need to be a snob to dislike that woman’s music. People are free to listen to her all they want but if they come to me saying my J-pop selection sounds like the Chipmunks, then I’ll be more than happy to say their little Cher/Madonna/Aguilera ripoff sounds like a goose getting waterboard treatment.

I swear is that really a song I’m hearing or a mating call for space aliens?

More like the mating call for chipmunks. 😛

She mocks Jesus and the Catholic faith. She promotes very heavily homosexuality. I am not sure what book you are using that just defines evil as only someone who kills someone else. i don’t see her as against abortion. There is more to “evil” than just killing. She promotes the false idea that we all just need to be free and do what we want. The fans who follow her nearly worship her. Her humanitarian efforts and causes are mostly to promote homosexuality and so called “sexual freedom”. pretty sad if you only define evil as just physical killing. You can “kill” yourself doing the things she support and endorses and that is spiritual killing and will not lead you to God.

In short, her music and her examples are hardly good.
She is one of the fiercest homosexualists that I’ve seen.

Her so called “good deeds” and humanitarian work is very pro-homosexual and immoral.
Well her message says that being gay is okay. And the church agrees with that. But its when they have gay sex is when its a problem. She is not saying “go have gay sex”, shes just saying its okay to be gay, to be different.

Problem is, her song “Born this Way” argues that homosexuality is something one is born with.

I’m not much into “pop music”…but she is an entertainer…she is a contemporary music artist. I’ve watched several of her interviews when she has been out of costume and she seems like a young lady that has her head on straight. She contributes a great deal of her earnings for worthy causes and political campains.

She is articulate and poised when on camera away from her entertainer “persona”.
