Here are some opinions:

a) No such place actually exists
b) It’s just a figurative idea without any reality attached to it
c) It’s total separation from God forever
d) Hell is present in the here and now
e) Only the very wicked people will go to hell
g) It doesn’t matter because there’s no such thing as an afterlife
g) It doesn’t matter because all people will end up in heaven anyway

Feel free to transcribe some sentences detailing the influences that led you to your present opinion.

Hell is present now, it was present then, and will be present in the future.

Hell is a holding place for those that die in their sins and then after the people in hell are judged they and Hell are thrown into the Lake of fire for eternity.

How do I know? The Bible tells me so.

In the name of Allah , Most Gracious, Most Merciful

God warned us in holy Quran that those who take deity besides God , will be in fire forever.

“Surely, Allah does not forgive associating anything with Him, and He forgives whatever is other than that to whomever He wills.” (An-Nisaa’: 48)

One can know the Truth, learn the truth, deny the truth, but in the end, "The truth still remains the truth!"

b) It’s just a figurative idea without any reality attached to it

** Even a cusory understanding of God, and God’s Nature debunk this claim. God is and HAS TO BE EVERYTHING GOOD! So is being “fair,” being “JUST” a “good?” Of course it is. Is their evil in this world? Are there evil people? Are sinners all equal in the signifiance of their sins? That is precisely why, God’s JUSTICE requires hell. Because some by our lives avoid it, others by personal choice SELECT it for themselves!**

c) It’s total separation from God forever

****This is certainly the most signifiant suffering, but there could be more and different types also? (I have not been there nor do I expect to go there (with God’s grace!)/****COLOR]:signofcross:

d) Hell is present in the here and now

**Naw! This is just tryouts. **We choose, NOT GOD!

e) Only the very wicked people will go to hell

Only those who permit themselves to be seperated from God and die in Mortal Sin, and those who commit the unforgivable sin, of denining the reality and TRUTH of God’s existence, will go to hell./****B] 1 john Chapter 5

g) It doesn’t matter because there’s no such thing as an afterlife

From your lips to God’s ears" BUT friend, don’t bet eternity on it:D

g) It doesn’t matter because all people will end up in heaven anyway

Yea right:nope: Like that is fair and JUSt right! NOT!

Love and prayers Brother Mick,

C. and maybe a bit of G. Certainly the very wicked will be there, no one else but God knows who else will end up there.

I hope God will be very lenient on who gets into Heaven, so all the folks who may be “on the bubble” will avoid damnation. I pray for all my friends and loved ones. It would be horrible if any of them did not make it.

Sister Faustina’s Vision of Hell

“I, Sister Faustina Kowalska, by the order of God, have visited the Abysses of Hell so that I might tell souls about it and testify to its existence…the devils were full of hatred for me, but they had to obey me at the command of God, What I have written is but a pale shadow of the things I saw. But I noticed one thing: That most of the souls there are those who disbelieved that there is a hell.” (Diary 741)

"Today, I was led by an angel to the Chasms of Hell. It is a place of great torture; how awesomely large and extensive it is! The kinds of tortures I saw:

i dont believe in any of the popular conceptions of either heaven or hell…i believe in an afterlife, just not what we have been led to believe…weird, huh?..fd

I believe there is a hell, and I wish there wasn’t.

What it is like I have no idea.

well…if there is one…and im open to a concept of that because i DO believe in evil…we have seen some glimpses of it already…rwanda, the holocaust, etc…maybe hell is the absolute rampant display of humankind’s basest and most malevolent nature…fd

Would you care to enlarge upon the less than popular conception of the afterlife that you have been led believe?

Curiously,
Mick

I read the rest if it. Very unpleasant reading. Are Catholics required to believe in the visions of people like this?

Hi fd,

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I converted to Biblical Christianity some nine years ago at which time my worldview hovered somewhere between agnosticism and deism. As far as I’m aware there are no official organizations for agnostics or deists so it’s a matter of thinking things out for yourself. I don’t think the idea of “hell for all eternity” comes naturally. It has to be learned. So perhaps I have some appreciation of how you might have reached your current position.🙂

If you don’t mind my asking, do you think you might turn toward corporate worship at some future time or have you settled the matter in your mind?

Inquiringly.

c and d are true…

but that doesn’t mean Hell is not in the afterlife also…

Purgatory is actaully Hell that comes to an end eventually…

all of us true Christians are in Purgatory now… which explains d…

have you been to the threads about there possibly being more women in Hell than men?

i tend to agree w/ George Bush 1… No, wait, it was the prime minister of Canada i agree with… He said that (like GB’s wife) his wife also held grudges… then he asked something like: Do you think its because women are less forgiving?

I am a woman and i tend to think this is true… some of the most unforgiving people i know are women…

but also, as stated on that thread…
more men may be in Heaven because they face death more than women do (war…)…

(I saw this video once where this Jayne Smith said she had an afterlife experience & went to the gate of Heaven… and there were so many MEN there… as though there were more men than women (though she didn’t exactly say that but implied it)… so that got me to wondering why that would be…

I also tend to think women worship their spouses more than vice versa… when Jesus said that we are to love him more than anyone… anything less than that is idolatry…
