What is your view per Orthodox Iconography in a Catholic home?

Honestly, if you have a local orthodox church, there’s a good chance they know someone willing to sell you some.

I love them too and have many in my home but it’s my understanding not my own personal belief, that the Orthodox don’t like the fact that people use them as Christian art, and not the for the sole purpose of veneration.

Oh, if my priest wishes to bless this for it to be made part of my devotion it’ll be so. 🙂

As long as there is nothing contrary to the faith in the image itself, it’s fine even if it was produced by an atheist! Have your priest bless it like any other devotional.

This is a good point! When I was growing up, actually, I think rank-and-file Roman Catholics were more likely to make it a habit to show reverence towards sacramentals. Things that were blessed and intended for sacred use were treated with more respect than everyday objects.

That is my plan. I haven’t gotten around to having our priest tend to it. But, will as soon as he’s able to free up a moment.
