Was there supposed to be dialogue? Or is there something wrong with my computer sound system? All I heard was the music dubbed over everything.
It would have been more informative to hear explanations of what is going on and why things are done how they are. As it is, after watching (effectively) a silent movie, I did not come away with any sense of what it means to be an Altar Server. If not for the title of the video, I would not have had any indication of this video’s purpose.
And that brings up a question I have: can anybody recommend a good video or tutorial for Altar Servers? One that goes through all the steps. Explains why things are done, when they are done, their background. When the bells are rung. When to bow, kneel, etc. If a host is dropped during communion, what to do, etc. etc. Even something that simply gives a background of the rich history on which these rituals are based would give an idea as to the solemnity of what is going on, and would give altar servers a better appreciation for what they are doing when they serve.
