Here in Canada a priest, Father Bob Ogle, was elected to Parliament in the late 70’s as well, one of three although he was the last. It caused a bit of an uproar as I recall but I believe he served for only one period of office before he was told ‘naught boy’.

Here’s a site covering Catholic clergy elected. There are 23 in total, according to the list.
