Please present this evidence.
Zaffiroborant,
The evidence begins in the teachings of Christ regarding how the situation was prophesied to be before His Second Coming:
Luke 12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
It is evident in the preceding verses that divisions are prophesied to happen within the same household regarding choice of religions during the times preceding the Second Coming of Christ.
Another prophesy preceding the end times is this prophecy of Amos:
Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:
12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.
Those words show directly that from “sea to sea,” and from “north to east” (in other words, all over the earth), those searching to “hear” or “seek” “the word of the Lord” “shall not find it.”
Isaiah prophesied about Christ’s suffering the atonement, and about people wandering in their “own way”:
Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Paul prophesied about a coming time when:
2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
(“Itching ears” means that the teachers chosen by the people will teach what the people want to hear, rather than teach the “sound doctrine” that evidently the people won’t want to hear.)
John saw in vision a time when the church (the woman) would “fly into the wilderness” and when a “dragon” would have power among the saints,
Rev. 13: 7
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
The above-prophesied conditions would logically lead to more diverse choices available regarding religion on the earth, because of the situation that teachers having “itching ears” would bring into the world their own teachings rather than the pure doctrinal teachings that lead to sanctification and exaltation, and yet the Savior suffered for “all we” who have “gone astray” and thus there was a planned allowance for all that wandering, and for people being able to choose “their own way” and decide for themselves what they deep-down want.
Ultimately, people will choose for themselves where they want to place themselves on the spectrum of available choices regarding religion during the end times. That’s not a “bad thing”–it is how God allowed things to happen on earth, to provide the opportunity for choosing freely, without feeling compelled in their choice.
