What kind of evangelization method is this? Does anyone approve of this?

Dangerous in the sense that parents are always warning their children to refuse candy from a stranger. The next person who offers it may not have bible verses to memorize for a contest, but something else in mind. They may not sense danger in the offering or accepting after an experience where no one harms them.

Besides, bottled water would be far more practical to kids on a hot day. Put the verse on the label, maybe one relating to water from the bible.

I can see the Pedophiliac hearing this on the news putting together candy with “let the little children come to me” and more.
 
This is the “wack-job” method my wif’es family was involved with. Later, we participated and left a congregation that was “evangelizing” children on our son’s sports team. W knew that most all of the children attended their parents church, mostly Methodist I believe. But the youth minister at a local mega-church thought he’d build a name for himself at the expense of overstepping a boundary I ended up jumping down his throat for doing. We were members of the Church of Christ and discerning truth. Five months into the mega church we were very disenchanted by their … let’s call it mall entertainment philosophy based on the believe that there is nothing we need to do to be saved. We were nearly vortexed into the Catholic Church while I was researching beliefs. I discovered the ancient church fathers online. The rest is history.

I am confrontational to people that deploy such underhanded/creepy tactics.

People who lure kids are in that group as far as I’m concerned. My kids have been told adults they don’t know have no business offering them anything and they should not need anything from them, no directions, no finding lost dogs nothing. If something like this happens the police need to know.
