Hello!
This is a really good question for you to ask! and I would also suggest you bring this up in your RCIA class because all catechumens and candidates need to know the answer.
In my parish we have a brochure that outlines an examination of conscience. It poses questions within the framework of the Ten Commandments like in regard to the Second Commandment of *You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain *the brochure asks *Have I used God’s holy name irreverently? Have I blasphemed God, the Church, Mary, the saints, or sacred places or things? *or for the Seventh Commandment *Thou shalt not steal *it asks *Have I stolen or accepted stolen goods? Have I cheated anyone of what I owe? *among other questions, each related to each Commandment. This brochure always really helps me to recall my sins before Confession so it is really a nice thing to have. Such brochures or guides are available from any Catholic bookstore.
Of course, since there are Ten Commandments there are many other questions to pose to oneself prior to Confession!
I really hope you bring this up in RCIA because everyone in the class will need to know!
Many blessings!
