What makes a miracle?

About a week ago I started praying to Father Ignatius Spencer to help a friend. She was only 76, but was very unhealthy. 6 days later she died. Is this. . . a miracle? Would I be able to help make Father Ignatius a saint? Thank you and please pray for my friend in Purgatory.
