Hi all, So I was wondering what makes an ordination valid? I have been looking into it but haven’t got a good or direct answer. I was wondering concerning whether post Vatican 2 ordinations are valid (which I do think they are but I’m just wondering why I think so I guess).

Valid matter, form, intent, and subject.
And what do they specifically mean? For example what is meant by intent: intention to do what exactly and by who?
I think that’s not what you meant, though. You seem to be asking a question about the differences between Tridentine ordination rites and current ordination rites. Why would you suggest that one is valid and the other not?
