My husband and I are Protestants interested in converting to Catholicism. My husband grew up in China, where the church is underground (he is not Chinese, his parents were missionaries in the Protestant faith in the underground church there). He was baptized by his father, (in China, in a bath tub, in their apartment) who was not ordained, but was sent by a missionary agency. Is his baptism valid in the eyes of the Catholic Church? And, if not, how does that affect the validity of our marriage? I was baptized Baptist, and our marriage was performed by an ordained non-denominational minister.
