King Edward VI of England removed the doctrine that the Mass is the sacrifice of Calvary
which is essential for a valid Eucharist. With the loss of key doctrines such as this, there was no way that the Catholic Church could recognize Anglican sacraments, other than Baptism and Matrimony. The Orthodox Churches remained orthodox in their sacramental doctrine and thereby retained valid sacraments.
