What makes prayers more powerful?

I understand faith is very important as is being in a state of grace. So is it being in a state of grace x great faith x efficacy of the prayer?

Is it possible that we can sometimes have great faith when we pray one time and have less faith/more doubt when we pray another time?

Does having fewer venial sins make it better?

Be in a state of grace. Pray with humility. Pray with confidence. Pray continually.
 
I’ve read that fasting and almsgiving are the wings of prayer. This to me sounds like they make prayer more powerful.
As to parts 1 and 3 of the original post I can't comment. As to part 2 of that post I would guess yes.
 
Somedays I’m filled with great faith and trust, and others, not so much. i do find myself sometimes falling into doubt. When I do I just say “Lord, I do believe. Help my unbelief”.
