Hi, I’m sorry if this has been asked before, but what words must the priest use in order for the Consecration to be valid?
Someone is trying to tell me that the Consecration is no longer valid because of the mistranslation from “many” to “all”. I know they’re working on a new translation now, which is good. But I don’t think this would prevent the Consecration from happening, as long as the priest says “This is My Body…” and “This is My Blood”; intends to consecrate the Eucharist, and uses the proper bread and wine?
I’ve always been certain that it’s Jesus that i receive in the Eucharist both in the Novus Ordo and in the Tridentine Mass, but I just wanted to check what the Church teaching is on this.
Thanks!
