What Mormons Think Of The Trinity

Here is the challenge: can you accept it?

Jaredite ships are described as built following the direct personal instructions of God himself construction of eight (8) submersible sailing vessels in approximately 2200 B.C.E. each boat with just one tight-fitting door, and no window or other opening. Construction of all eight boats was completed, per the Lord’s personal instructions

But what if we read it with the eye of reason and common sense? What if we read it as if we were jury members evaluating a witness’s testimony? Shall we give it a try?
Sure. Then we can look at the size of the Ark and the containment of (at least) two of every animal.

Or we can look with reason at the allegation that someone rose from the dead.

Or we can look with reason at teh allegation that the mystery of the trinity is real.

Or we can look with reason at the Sea of Reeds parting for Moses and the people of Israel.

Or we can look with reason at the 40 year miracle of manna falling from heaven.

Or we can look with reason at all the people that lived to be more than 900 years old.

Or we can look with reason at Jesus casting out demons and having them enter the bodies of swine.

OK I grew up in the Mormon Church and reached the level of high priest (not as exciting as it sounds I was 14).

The Mormon Church teaches that Jesus was the Archangel Michael in the ‘pre-existsence’ and that He only became God when He assumed the mantel by perfect obedience to the Father. This teaching is also vaguley flavored by the later teachings of Pelagius whom Augustine swept aside. The LDS Church absolutely denies the co-eternal nature of the Christ and in doing so steps away from a doctrine which was established and agreed upon before
Nicea in 325. In fact this question began when John wrote “and God was the Word” in John 1:1.

Sorry but at age 14yrs or even 15yrs you could have only been a Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood.

Mormon’s do not believe that Archangel Michael was Jesus you might want to brush off your Doctrine and Covenents and read 27:11 to see who they believe Michael was.

If they believe this Nicaean Doctrine of the trinity before roman emporeror Conatantine convened this council why was it necessary to even hold it? So your statement or use of the phrase “before Nicaea” must be disreguared.

My John 1:1 in my King James version it says " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Checked the other translations you may have referenced and did not find it stated that way.

Actually what I quoted from John was a transliteration of the Greek. I quoted it that way because of the propensity of JW to jump on this

I left the LDS church in 1987. I attended at the Arlington ward in the Hurst Stake in North Texas. My Bishop at my ward was a man named Williamson. Feel free to chueck on that. I am not afraid of cross examination and will stand by everything I say here.

Just out of curiosity, is something like the “Hust Stake” a Mormon form of parish - or is it a part of secular Texas - I ask, as someone unfamiliar with that part of the world

Former mufti: Western Wall was never part of Jewish temple
The former mufti of Jerusalem, Ikrema Sabri, has made the claim that there never was a Jewish temple on the Temple Mount, and the Western Wall was really part of a mosque.

“There was never a Jewish temple on Al-Aksa [the mosque compound] and there is no proof that there was ever a temple,” he told The Jerusalem Post via a translator. “Because Allah is fair, he would not agree to make Al-Aksa if there were a temple there for others beforehand.”

Sabri rejected Judaism’s claim to the Western Wall as part of the outer wall of the Second Temple. “The wall is not part of the Jewish temple. It is just the western wall of the mosque,” he said. “There is not a single stone with any relation at all to the history of the Hebrews.”

The Samaritans proclaimed Mount Gerizim as God’s chosen place (the site of His covenant with Abraham)

A stake is similar to a Diocese. Within each stake are wards, wards are similar to a parish.

How old is Z? I’m a little confused. If he hasn’t gone through the temple and hasn’t encountered those things that an adult in Mormonism has gone through he is in for a rude awakening.

If that’s the case, and if and when he does go through that awakening, I hope he knows by now there is somewhere else to turn.

The truth is not what you told her. That was a wicked lie.

Oh please… I did not lie…

Here is an example. It is obvious I can’t list all of the changes since there are so many.

Mosiah 21:28
changed in 1964 ed.
“…king Benjamin had a gift from God, whereby he could interpret such engravings;…”
“…king **Mosiah **had a gift from God, whereby he could interpret such engravings;…”

So tell me Z… why all the changes?
1 Nephi 11:18
"And he said unto me, Behold, the virgin which thou seest, is the mother of God, after the manner of the flesh
Newer Book of Mormon version
“And he said unto me: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of **the Son of God, **after the manner of the flesh.”

Yes, you did lie. Anything that is designed to deceive, mislead, misinform, beguile, and lead people astray is a lie, no matter how it is packaged. Your post was one such. Go back and read my reply in post #174, and you will know why.

I had the missionaries over last night. In our area, they usually come over when a new set of missionaries are assigned here. I don’t know exactly what the purpose is, other than to just meet me.

Each time I am in awe at how much I am able to share with them. They know I have left the church, although they must think I just haven’t done enough praying to “know” it is true.

One of them said to me that it was nice to see that I had not left because of any malice. I pray that I can share more with these two. I would never turn them away. I feel that I can show them that an apostate such as myself is not demonic and that I can at the very least tell them my story and give them pause to think.

Perhaps Z will be sent to my area if/when he goes on a mission and I can show him what a real relationship with Jesus will do.

Well you seem to have trouble recognizing lies even though your BOM and LDS are professionals at it. You are deluded and and don’t seem to have a concept of what truth is. You are very good at twisting what others say, that is things that your heretic books and clergy state, and then calling people liars when they only repeat word for word your theology.
Get real pal, cause if you don’t you and your family are in for a world of trouble.

Zerinus…
As you said I quote part of your text…" People spelled words as they thought they sounded. A wide variety of spelling styles or conventions existed across the country. Later on as the American spelling became standardized"

So Benjamin sounded like Mosiah?
You have GOT to be kidding!!
