I was reading an article on the Terri Schiavo Case. I found in interesting development. It seem to me (and this is my opinion) that he wanted his wife life support cut off so he can marry Jodi whom he started relationship with in 1995. They got married in 2006 Jan. I don’t know about you, but this doesn’t feel right to me? To have your first wife die by insisting on cutting off the feeding tube, and then marrying another is right. Not just that, but in 1995. Michael was still married to Terri, so his relationship with Jodi would be consider adultery. It is noted that this woman got pregnant and give birth to their first child in 2002 and then 2004, and Terri was still alive. Terri died in March 2005…

I find his actions rather insulting… I would have to say the adultery is the root of all evil…

Look at this timeline and tell me if you see a pattern.

I had read some reports that some people closest to Terri suspected that Michael had abused his wife physically during their marriage. If that is the case then he might have been motivated by a need for power. He had the power of life or death over her and he could torture the parents.

I never bought that he just loved Terri so much that he couldn’t see her suffer. If he really thought that she was brain dead then she would have no idea what was going on around her. And it wouldn’t matter if she remained alive. Why not let the parents have the peace of seeing their daughter live?

Let’s simply pray that if Michael is abusive that his current wife is not suffering at his hands.😦

I didn’t buy Michael Schaivo’s argument one bit. He could have relinquished guardianship of Terri to her parents, gotten a civil divorce from Terri, and married his mistress if he wanted to be free to marry.

He had some other motivation. Perhaps control, perhaps money. I don’t know. But there was no reason to kill her, especially considering that her parents were more than willing to take over her care for the rest of her natural life.

And I am sickened that he was married again in a Catholic Church. Absolutely sickened. I can’t imagine why the bishop of Schaivo’s diocese allowed it to happen.

How tall was Terri? I ask because the news media always linked her condition to health problems caused by dieting. Her lowest weight, according to Manny’s link, was 121. I am five foot tall and would be considered overweight at more then 120lbs.

One may note that he got a rather large settlement from the medical community that treated Terri initially. He had promised to use this to care for Terri for the rest of her life. When Terri died young he got what was left - or his lawyer did as the case dragged out.

According to this article, Terri was 5’3".

Then 121.lbs was not underweight for her.

I am five foot tall and I try to maintan my weight at 115lbs. Now I am confused why her problems was said to be brought about by an eating disorder. I didn’t think that people were diagnosed with eating disorders until they were 15% under their normal body weight.

121lbs is not underweight for a woman of her height. It might sound underweight because most women are taller then five three. Just like 115lbs might sound light but at only five foot tall that is a happy medium for my build and height.

Money. As primary legal guardian, he was entitled to any money left in her trust fund - the money that had been awarded to Terri from the lawsuits. As long as she was alive, that money went towards covering her medical expenses, the less he was going to get when she died.

I saw the film footage when Oprah had the Schindler’s on her show. Terri was NOT in any “vegetative” state. 😦 She was responsive. Vegetables don’t respond or smile at their mothers.

I think, although I am not sure, that they think her alleged condition happened because she lost a large amount of weight in a short amount of time. Reportedly, she was also bullimic. I’m not sure about this, though.

no one can possibly answer this question unless his name is Michael Schiavo, and no one here can state his opinion about the motives of another person. yet another post by OP that implies or asks for potentially libelous statements about public figures.

The autopsy found no evidence of the eating disorder or the potasium imbalance that was given as the cause of the loss of oxygen to her brain. Some suspect that Michael was the cause of the loss of oxygen to her brain. If that is the case he would have reason to make sure she never recovered enough to communicate even in a primitive fashion like blinking answers to yes or no questions. I read that at one point she was starting to speak. If true, that alone could have been motivation to have her dehydrated to death.

I’m confused about the bolded portion of your post, because didn’t you, in the very next line, state your opinion about the OP’s motives?

Since when has no one been able to state their opinion about anything?

According to the Wikipedia entry on defamation:
**Opinion **is a defense recognized in nearly every jurisdiction. If the allegedly defamatory assertion is an expression of opinion rather than a statement of fact, defamation claims usually cannot be brought because opinions are inherently not falsifiable.
