The original film?

I watched the Taking of Pelham 1,2,3 two nights ago. Good film but disturbing. Walter Matthau was a good actor.

1970’s New York films are an interesting selection of films.

I aso watched the original version of Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3 a few nights ago.
It really gave you a view of NYC back in the 70’s. Walter Matthau and the rest of the cast was very good.

The remake was not as good.

I have been watching, almost every Monday nights, the show called “The Good Doctor”…it is about a doctor that is autistic…fantastic show…very psychological!

Watch out! The Twilight Zone (in its time) was considered liberal indoctrination!!! Rod Serling was pro-civil rights and inserted a lot of anti-prejudice themes in his stories. He also had far more minority actors than was usual during those times. In addition, his show on the Berlin wall was really a timeless lecture on hate.

Its interesting to view the shows now and wonder why conservatives got so incensed. For me, Serling smoked too much!!!

The oddest movie I watched during the lockdown is “The Talented Mr. Ripley”. Kind of odd.
Heh. Well, I’ve seen all of the episodes dozens of times so it’s too late for me. I’m probably fully indoctrinated now. 🙂

My husband and son watch that every week. It’s “ their show.”

I forgot I am also making my way through Blue Bloods and Longmire.

With Gene Hackman, yes. (I didn’t realize there was a remake.)

I looked up the Wikipedia article for The French Connection. It makes no mention of a remake. There was a sequel, and a made-for-TV movie Popeye Doyle.

I do know there was a remake of The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 several years ago. Maybe that was what you were thinking of?

Hubby likes to watch the old westerns like Bat Masterson, the Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke, etc. I like whodunits – true or fictional. We also watch old Twilight Zone episodes and Alfred Hitchcock.

I watch EWTN occasionally, but ever since Mother Angelica died, it hasn’t been the same.

I also like to watch American Greed, which never ceases to amaze me.

Brant Pitre videos on Formed, Bishop Barron’s Mass, and the 90s American cartoon “Hey Arnold”, because DVR.

I’ve wanted to get a subscription to Acorn. Alas, our children successfully lobbied for Disney+ instead.

I’m retreating into the past and will begin watching Star Trek The Next Generation.
I would really like to go back and watch some of TNG. I would say 85-90% of the episodes I haven’t watched since they originally aired.

MrZoom:
I’m enjoying LiS more than the new Star Trek shows on CBS All Access.

Why not go back to the beginning and watch TOS?
