While it is possible to summarize the question of salvation somewhat concisely – for an example, see the subsection titled “What You Must Do to be Saved” in Catholic Answers’ booklet Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Truth – please be aware of the danger of pat answers. Christianity is a complex and subtle religion that should not be “boiled down” to soundbytes. The important thing about giving concise answers is to satisfy the inquirer’s immediate curiosity while still whetting his appetite for more. So, while you might give a quick answer to the question of “How do you get saved?” you should be wary about giving the impression that this is all one must know about Christianity.
