What needs to be done to return back to the Faith?

Recently a relative of mine has expressed interest in returning back to the Faith. He left in his 20’s, married,and joined the Salvation Army church and raised his family in it.He hasn’t been in an RC Church for YEARS(but he did get baptized, receive his First Communion, and was Confirmed when he was young),so if he does return, what does that entail? Does he just have to go to Confession and resume going to Mass and receiving the Eucharist,or would he have to take a class like RCIA or something?(I figure his wife will have to go thru RCIA since she was never RC)
What about his marriage? How does he get it blessed and validated by the Church?Will he need documents,or a certain waiting time, or what? Thanx.
