Pax Christi and Happy New Year!

On New Year’s Day, I don’t care for the parades, and only watch a football game or two. Right now Notre Dame is losing, so I’ve decided to post on CAF.

What do you watch? Bowl games? Parades? Did you watch the ball drop last night?

There’s a Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy!

God bless your New Year!

I got home from Mass about 1 hr ago and am fixing me a cup of coffee, posting here and watching all the Bowl games. I love college football. Happy 2016!👍

Oh and as far as New Year’s Eve, I always watch ABC. Grew up watching Dick Clark host it every year and plus, I get to see Jenny McCarthy, good little Catholic girl she is, er was.

She’s still pretty.

Same here. Only I like to watch the Rose Bowl Parade every year Just love the flowers!

🙂

Unfortunately there is a load of rubbish on tonight.

I will play with my xbox when my wife goes to bed.

We watched the Twilight Zone marathon after we got home from Mass…switched to the bowl games during the frequent commercials.

Klaatu barata nikto.

God bless!

We watched a bit of quality recorded Scandi Noir, then watched the bongs of Big Ben, which were sadly followed by unfeasibly awful dance music during the fireworks and then (almost as bad) the end of a Bryan Adams concert :banghead:

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! 👋 :blessyou:

The past three years, I haven’t seen the ball because I’ve been on my way to Midnight Mass. :)🙂

My condolences on Nôtre Dame, but my college isn’t even **IN **a bowl this year!

Yeah, the Irish lost, but Minnesota (my school) got a bowl game with a 5-7 record! And they won! That was Dec. 28th. The Toilet Bowl, I think.

R-D-R-R!!

God bless!

New Years Eve I watched this year’s Dr. Who Christmas Special.

New years day I watched Time After Time on TCM. There was a new episode of Sherlock on PBS tonight but I missed it.

This New Years I also watched Big Ben chiming in this year, the spectacular fireworks and the Bryan Adam’s concert.

On New Years Day I ended up watching The Sound Of Music which I watched almost every day as a pre-schooler but haven’t seen in a while. It wasn’t planned viewing but I was glad I watched it again. The themes of the film, especially with regards to Maria’s discernment and the power of redemptive love really struck a chord with me this time. It’s nice to watch a film where a protagonist has a powerful relationship with God and puts him at the centre of her life, letting her decisions be led by that.

There was a line in the film spoken by the Mother Abbess, something along the lines of, “Maria, you have been given a great capacity for love. The question is, how does God want you to use it?”. I thought that was a great question and it certainly rang true with me.

Apart from that, we’ve been watching some pre-recorded Cedar Cove. The TV hasn’t been great this year

I watched the same thing, plus was on here and reading. Not all at the same time. 😃

I ‘discovered’ the Twilight Zone marathon this year while on a skiing vacation.

I watch the Christian family western When Calls the Heart, produced by Michael Landon Jr! This year, they aired an exclusive “New Year’s Wish” episode. It’s nice to have a fun, clean program that incorporates our Christian and Catholic values! It’s a beautiful show filled with action, faith, hope, and love :)❤️

Blessings,
StElizabeth
