Great article! Thank you for sharing.

As someone who recently went through RCIA, I found with most things I learned in class and at mass has to reconcile with my mind before I could except it into my heart. NFP, or to be more correct “openess to life” was the exception. I could never reconcile the Catholic’s teaching on this subject with my mind. After my first confession, I decided I would just do it, even if I didn’t believe it or feel it. Once I made that decision, by the grace of God, my heart finally got it, and then practicing it, my mind finally caught up. I get it, and it truly is awesome!

Being open to life is a truly counter-culture concept in our society, and I say this as someone who his liberal and votes Democrat most of the time. Everything has to be planned, and I didn’t realize how sad I truly found this idea until I understood what it means to be open to life. It’s liberating to know I don’t have it all planned out.

Just in the learning stages of NFP now (i.e., no real-life applications yet), but good emotional/mental preparation, and definitely resonates with preconceptions. 🙂 Thanks for sharing! 👍

Articles like this one need to be required reading as part of pre-cana lol.

The site that was originally hosted on is going to be doing a whole series on NFP. Make sure you check it out! Camp Patton is where it is and she’s hilarious too so you’ll doubly enjoy it. 🙂
