Hold it!! I know several priests, my PV, my pastor, my bishop and a friend of mine and quite a few Paulists, who are really good. My PV has a great singing voice. The Credo sung in Latin.
I’ve heard a lot of different sung English Credo’s. But none match the one that used to be done every Sunday in Gregorian chant by the choir. The only drawback was that the priest always had to start it off by singing the first line: ‘Credo in unum Deum.’ And we all know that priests can’t carry a tune. It’s an ordination requirement.
I also miss having Latin Mass parts chanted during Mass. Although, I was pleasantly surprised on Friday when my PV started chanting the Sanctus! I belted it out with gusto. There weren’t very many who followed it, but, I figured, I’d belt it out to make up for the rest.
