I think there is something to be said for kneeling at the rail to receive communion. I feel it is an appropriate display of humility when receiving the Body and Blood of Christ.
Ah, remember the days when parishes HAD more than one priest? The parish I grew up in in Suburban Chicagoland had three, plus the Principal of the Catholic HS would come help on Sundays too.
We had seven Sunday Masses, and two on Saturday night, plus two per day on weekdays. Quite a load. At all the “prime time” Sunday masses, three additional priests would come out in light vestments to assist with distribution of the Blessed Sacrement.
