A friend of mine told me the Jews didn’t even use the Septuagint so why did the Catholic Church use it as inspired. He stated Luther was correct in pulling it out of the Catholic bible. I understood that when the Septuagint was written and translated to Greek 200-300 BC majority of the Jews used it and the New Testaments quote many times from it and not the Hebrew Canon. (I have read “Where we got the Bible”) and even provided him a very good mp3 on (Where we got the bible historical and geographical, from PJPIISOE) but this only confused him more) I need to be able to show my separated brother where the direct/indirect quotes from the New Testament align with the Septuagint and not the Hebrew canon…also he mentioned other non-inspired books are quoted so my platform of reference from the new to old doesn’t mean a lot to him. Any suggestions?
