What passages strenghten you for overcoming obstacles?

If someone lead you down a path in your life, only to leave when they get you started then they are brought back into your life years later needing help that you could only be able to give because of their influence years ago… Are there any passages in the bible to help strenghten you and your faith (of being capable to help them) for the challenge?
