Lately I have been feeling down and stressed out. I wanted to know what prayers or saints that you pray to, to get yourself out of a rut. Thanks to all and god bless.

Hi Mkipp,
I usually come here to the prayer forum and pray for others. It makes me realize just how fortunate I am. My problems seem so small compared to most of the prayer requests I read.
I will be praying for you. Check out the “CLUB HOUSE” section of the forums. They can perk you right up in there.

God Bless,
Pam

I don’t really have a particular prayer. When I pray here at the forum I have to just pray from my heart to our Father and the Holy Spirit…Words from the heart I know are heard.

These are the times I find myself relying on memorized prayers. My favorite on is:

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen

I find myself praying this almost constantly in times of need. It is a beautiful pray and I find great comfort in these beautiful words. I believe they are well worth putting to memory and reciting from the heart.

I promise that this day I will offer the Memorare for you and your intentions. May our Blessed Morther give you comfort this day.

The Hail Mary is a very powerful prayer. The Hail Mary is found in Luke 1:28 “Hail ,full of grace, the Lord is with you.” and in Luke 1:42, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.”

The “Our Father” is found in Matthew 6:9-15. Both prayers are contained in the Rosary, which has always helped me.

Praying for you.God Bless You. Peace.🙂

I heard somewhere, probably ewtn, that Mother Teresa used to say nine Memorares as an emergency novena.

I say the chaplet of Divine Mercy almost daily, and have been doing so for close to one year. It is very powerful and I highly recommend it.

The Memorare is my favorite “quick” prayer.

My favorite prayer ever is the Mass. A Mass can snap me right outta a rut.

Second favorite is the Rosary. I have a little ring rosary I carry in my wallet, in a ddition to my bead rosary. That way I can even sneak a quick decade in at work sometimes.

Three great prayers to one great person!

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, you allowed the thirsting love of Jesus on the cross to become a living flame within you, and so became the light of his love to all. Obtain from the Heart of Jesus… (make your request here). teach me to allow Jesus to penetrate and possess my whole being so completely that my life, too, may radiate His light and love to others. Amen.

Pam is so right. Praying for others helps you to know that your overwhelming set of problems and heartaches sometimes pale beside others’. And experiencing much pain of all kinds yourself, makes prayer for others the deeper and more authentic.

Dear Friend, speak to Jesus from your heart in complete honesty and with as much faith as you can manage. May God increase your faith and hope, and may God fill you with love and peace.

I like to pray the rosary, when I’m not praying for others in this forum. Both ease my mind.

I say many different prayers, the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet etc. on different occasions. Regarding the Mother Teresa Emergency novena I offer the following:

The Mother Teresa Emergency Novena is a real winner!

A mother and father were trying to talk their daughter out of going to a particular social gathering, which was going to place her in a situation that was bad for her. They tried to reason with her, but she is by nature a stubborn person and did not listen. Later in the day the mother made one Mother Theresa Emergency Novena to ask Our Lady to change her daughter’s mind. She also gave a donation to a charity on behalf of the Holy Souls in Purgatory and asked them to obtain this important favour. The daughter was determined to go to the party and even started dressing for it and putting on her makeup. When the parents saw that, they felt depressed. The mother thought that her prayers had not been answered. The father asked the mother to go and talk to the daughter again. The daughter informed her. “I am not going”. She decided to go to the Saturday night Vigil Mass instead. It was amazing. The parents were so relieved. (The Mother Teresa Emergency novena consists of saying nine Memorares in a row.)

It is the novena which was made famous by Blessed Teresa of Calcutta who used it (with great success) when praying for favours.

This is the Memorare prayer:
Remember O most loving Virgin Mary that never was it known in any age that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided, inspired by this confidence, therefore I fly to thee O Virgin of Virgins my Mother, to you do I come, before you I stand sinful and sorrowful, do not O Mother of the Word Incarnate despise my prayers but in thy mercy graciously hear and answer them. Amen.

Other stories of how the Mother Teresa Emergency novena has helped people.

The Mother Teresa Emergency Novena is great for those whose time is very short and that can be on many occasions and in many situations. When you have a bit more time here is my favourite.

The powerful intercession of the Holy Souls in Purgatory for their benefactors

The web page has accounts of the intercession of The Holy Souls in Purgatory, for their benefactors in cases of illness, addictions, cars that won’t start, infertility problems, protection in accidents, conversion, chronic insomnia, their help for people who are experiencing major trouble with city councils, success with projects, employment, real estate, television sets that don’t work properly, finding lost property and trouble with relations, etc. and prayers and ideas on how to help The Holy Souls in Purgatory.

For you …

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
