:angel1::gopray:😊

I do not know much, but mother has told me that my Maternal great-grandfather and Maternal great-grandmother is European and Russian they believe in God and Catholic and Orthodox and that my Paternal ancestors all Asian and it is I do not know what religion they are.

Not only all Catholic, but also 100% POLISH. 😛

My Paternal Grandma and Grandpa were born in Poland near the Russian border, and my Maternal Grandfather was born in Poland near the border of Austria. My Maternal Grandmother was born in Pennsylvania, but both of her parents came from Poland near Austria as well. They immigrated to the United States, as did my paternal grandparents, and met in Pennsylvania while working the coal mines.

It was interesting to note the families had different words for some things - like “potato” for instance - because of the influence on the Polish dialects by the Russian and Austrian languages. 🙂

I am told, however, that one of my Maternal Grandmother’s sisters was “eccentric” and did not remain Catholic. Some of her “activities” (when I heard tales about her years ago) reminded me of ME… she read cards, analyzed dreams, grew and mixed herbs and made “medicinal” teas and potions… counseled women and participated in midwifery, but never married or had children herself… and she had died long before I was born. 😦

My family lines have all been Catholic…
My husband’s family is much more sorted… his parents are both converts - they both converted independent of their families at the age of 13… his mom was Protestant and his dad was Jewish.
