Not your personal phobias, but which religions are a genuine threat to humanity? You may pick more than one, but please don’t pick them all or it defeats the whole purpose of the thread. Choose the ones which you believe to be relatively more harmful. Then discuss the reasons why you believe them to be more harmful.

Why don’t you have Christian? It was a Christian country that killed 6 million jews and uncounted Slavs. It was a “Christian” country that has invaded two other countries in the past 8 years. It was a “Christian” country that practiced ethnic cleansing of it’s native population in the 1800’s.

Religions that have teaching authorities that sanction vilolence in the name of their god/gods.

Because it’s a Catholic forum. DUH! Do you think I’m going to insult my host?

Without christianity on the list, the results are hardly credible.

How do I get to vote anyhow? What’s the post limit/registration date limit?

I picked Islam because they are the ones that drove the planes into the Towers in the name of their god, and when word got back to other Islamic countries that thousands of Amiericans were killed, they danced in the streets and cheered.

I think they are so cruel to each other… especially their own women - sisters, mothers etc. It appears that their holy book sanctions the violence. I think if given the opportunity, they would wipe us all out because we are infidels.

If you were to post this on a non-Christian forum, most would say Christianity is the most threatening religion given its stormy history and given the fact it’s very much diliked in general. I know some places where if you can’t say the P-word (Pope) without getting a reaction of fear and disgust. Ironic…

By the way I wish atheism could have bveen listed as a destructive religion. This is no offense against all those who sincerely don;t believe in God- but those who are hostile to belief in God. I guess I would say aggressive atheism is hurting mankind the most right now.

The Amish. Don’t let them fool you. They have wooden scud missiles in those barns.

If you are unable to vote, it is because you are still considered a new member? You can state your choice in a post though…

Let me guess? It’s Christiantiy?

This just makes me laugh out loud.
If you can make the jump from radicals inside Islam to being representative of Islam, then how can you object to the radicals in christianity not being part of christianity? You only seem to think that events that happened within your lifetime are the ones to consider.
Christianity was very very bloody for many years longer than Islam has been around.

That doesn’t sound very Christian to me. Anyway do these nations have written in thier constitution that they will be known as a Christian nation? Just curious.

Amish are very admirable people who don’t even take good cases to court. They believe God will sort things out, not man.
They have more trust in God than is even realistic. That’s faith without evidence if you ask me.

It might be. I just wanted to know what the limits were. ;p

I would vote islam.

Of course I’m going to base my personal opinion on the events that have happened in my lifetime. I wasn’t around during the Crusades and I think history is tricky… hard to know what the true story is since it changes depending on whom you ask? Besdies, what’s done is done… I assumed the OP was asking which religions were most threatening to the world today… not 1,000 years ago since Latter Day Saints & Scientology weren’t around back then?

Based on the list of religions listed, I think the Islamics are the only one who might want to see my entire country dead. Not ALL Islamics… but it only takes a radical with a nuke to make their dream a reality.

If we are talking about the time period of our lifetime I would say atheist’s that use religion as a tool. Do we really think that Stalin and Hitler were religious? More modern in our lifetime I would say Islam.

I am an agnostic that had no religious upbringing like Hitler and Stalin did.
