My husband is a cradle Catholic. He wants to know if the 7 sacraments make an indelible mark on our souls as he was taught as a boy before he was confirmed. He also wants to know if a Catholic priest still has the right to not forgive or retain someone’s sins as he was taught in the Catholic School growing up. My husband will soon be 75 years old if that helps you understand where he is coming from.
Thank you,

Sacraments that leave an indelible mark are: baptism, confirmation, and holy orders. Those sacraments can only be received once.

The other sacraments (confession, communion, marriage, last rites) do not leave an indelible mark and thus can be received again.
