What Saint are you?

I have been wondering if there are any sites that have those quizzes that can “determine” what saint you are more relatable to. For example there was some quiz I took on “what car are” and asked me some questions and determine the car that I am lol.
Reason I ask is because I want to give my students ideas on what saint to choose for confirmation. Also any sites that can give info on saints is appreciated as well.
 
No surprise to me, I matched Therese of Lisieux. I doubt they had St. Bernadette as an option, but I strongly identify with her, as well.

I think the best way is to learn about the kind of saints most young people would be attracted to, tell them about them, and let them choose.

It has all kinds of ways to sort saints–by occupation, patronage, etc. It’s how I found St. Joseph Moscati! 🙂

Hmmmmm…I was born 4 October 1944, so have always assumed that St. Francis was my patron saint. But I took that first quiz and the result was…:compcoff:

“You are Julian of Norwich! It’s all about God, to you. You’re convinced that the world has a happy ending. Everyone else is convinced that you’re a closet hippie, but you love them anyway.”:love:

This is way too close for comfort. Although in place of “closet hippy” could be substituted “closet Franciscan Penitent, living the rule of 1221” Still…:hmmm:

There are books for teenagers or kids about saints. The books are quick easy reads and it will give you a lot of info to share with the kids.

I did an assignment last year with my high school students to help them in the process of selecting a saint. I read through a book and picked out a saint for each student. They then made a small poster about the saint. My purpose was not to pick the saint for them but get them used to the process of selection. I showed them the book and then gave them a photocopy of section about a saint which I thought fit their personality.

The kids had a good time with it.

Here are some saints I can recommend:

Saint Maximilian Kolbe - www.auschwitz.dk/kolbe.htm The book Kolbe: Saint of the Immaculate was read in class and the 1st chapter had my students wanting to stay past the end of class to finish reading the chapter. High school kids wanting to stay after class? That is one powerful saint 👍

Saint Maria Goretti - a book titled In Garments All Red or the video Fourteen Flowers of Pardon. She teaches a great lesson in forgiveness.

Saint Patrick - well known, but did you know he was kidnapped as a teenager and put to work as a slave on the island of Ireland? This aspect my appeal to the teenage mind newadvent.org/cathen/11554a.htm

Saint Perpetua is definitely one to recommend to the girls. She kept a diary of her time in prison up to her and her friends facing the animals in a Roman arena. While reading part of the book Wisom’s Fool I read how St. Louis de Monfort would use rocks as pillows while hiking from place to place. Since I use rocks for pillows while out on bicycle tour I feel a certain affinity for him.

One of the newest Saints - Saint Damian of Molokai should inspire the kids. The movie Molokai does a good job telling of his life. He left a cushy life to go live on the island of Molokai with the lepers.

I should not forget my own confirmation Saint - St. Joseph

Saint Francis - when he realizes he no longer wants his father’s money he completely disrobes in front of his earthly father and the bishop leaving everything behind to go live for God. This will appeal to the kids sense of rebellion, but to a positive end. catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=50

Interesting quizzes.

I certainly did not think of myself as a Catherine of Siena. Then again she was a lay Dominican and I have always had a liking for Dominican spirituality.👍

I picked St. Anselm of Canterbury as my RCIA saint when received into the church last year. His feast is my birthday and when I read about him, I was quite happy to relate to him.
 
Julian of Norwich.

I’ve NEVER heard of her, but the more I read of her right now, the more I absolutely love her.

Julian of Norwich and Thérèse of Lisieux?

Both of these come as a surprise to me,
though I must admit I’m not all that familiar
with Julian of Norwich.

I think the first test was kinda rigged, I mean obviously if you choose answers like your most important goal in life is to defend the rightful king of France, you’re gonna wind up with Joan of Arc. Now being an American, I didn’t choose the king of France answer … Had the question been worded more universally, I may have chosen something like it.

That rings true right now, though not quite in the way it is said. What pops out to me is the “just to make sure the truth is told. But don’t get discouraged.” I really needed to hear that!

The second one.
Therese of Lisieux. She is my confirmation saint! I love her so much! :love:

St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Francis de Sales, St. Paul the Apostle, the Advocate for Humanity (Mary), the Holy Spirit, Holy Wisdom, and of course my Holy Guardian Angel . . . and St. Joshua who conquered Canaan through the power of God. As my namesake conquered an evil physical kingdom to bring the Twelve Tribes of Israel into a new and glorious homeland, I hope that God will destroy an evil spiritual kingdom to bring people to the end of their desert pilgrimage, leading them into their glorious true Homeland in the New Israel, and I hope that God will allow me to be part of this adventure.

The first one says I’m “St. Joan of Arc”. ._.

While the whole idea of being very ferocious in the act of defending one’s friends, family and faith rings very true for me (and is very noble too)… I am not a girl!!! D8

Other than that, I think it’s cool and St. Joan’s one of the very few saints I use “cool” with since she’s always depicted so positively in popular fiction. I wouldn’t mind fighting alongside a girl like that. :cool:

For the first quiz, I got Julian of Norwich.
For the second quiz, I got St Therese of Liseux… not surprising, she’s my baptismal saint and I absolutely love her. 😛
 
Yes, I do realize this particular thread is a tad bit old and I agree with the phoenix when she stated that the first quiz is rigged. My response would’ve been more than one and even differently.

However, my results are:
