What should be blessed?

I’ve been reading around, and I’ve read about getting things like rosaries blessed. I didn’t know you should do this. I received my first Bible, I was so excited, for Christmas. Should I get this blessed? and what about my rosary, and prayerbook/missal? and how would I get them blessed?

you can take them all to your Priest and ask that he blesses them…takes all of 5 mintues and tehy are usually very happy to do this for you:)

Best time might be after Mass - mine usually only takes a few seconds to make the sign of the Cross over the object to be blessed.
 
I have a necklace that I got for Christmas with a Miraculous medal and an assortment of other religious symbols. I’m thinking that it’s OK to have that blessed. I also got a decorative cross for the wall. Not a crucifix. Is it OK to have that blessed?

It’s fine, when I do weddings, before or after the wedding, people bring items to me to get blessed.
usually family and/or bride and groom bring me crosses and things for thier house. I once married someone and one invited guest brought me a huge wooden cross to bless for thier house.
even when I go to the outdoor swap meet in my cassock people ask me to bless things, and thier children too.

Why not, it’s the word of God.
His words are also a blessing by itself.
ask a priest to bless what you want, I have done everything from musical instraments to a flock of racing pigions.
 
Is there a specific prayer the priest recites when he blesses something?
 
When my priest blesses rosaries he includes and when anyone touches this rosary they will receive the blessing:cool:

I also got my new ce bible blessed and asked him to sign and date it in his writing, I was rather new at it and there are some that get it blessed by many but not sure that is needed.

I did order a medal blessed by the Holy Father and figure that is sufficient:D

I had a crucfix blessed and have it in my home but maybe would like him to bless our home too.
But I am working on getting my dh to get our marriage blessed as father says it is a routine matter of repeating our vows 👍
