I am studying about abortion at the moment and here are some moral obligations to follow, including the one I mentioned above:
God bless,

Abortion and Civil Law.
they may seem obvious, but if we all followed them, especially the one about helping those who are unable to support children financially, then it may make a difference.
- not to avail of what the law allows.
- to seek to persuade others that it is wrong to have an abortion, but to do this by peaceful means (threatening the lives of other people is not only likely to be counter-productive, but is a counter-witness to the claim to respect life, especially as many are likely to be in good faith).
- to provide practical ways of helping those liable to think of having abortions and their children.
- to promote respect for life at all its stages and in all its forms, eg. through education and forming consciences.
- to seek to support pro-life medical professionals, whose daily work is rendered more difficult, whose career prospects may be threatened.
- to seek to change the laws. If there is no realistic possibility of abrogating this unjust law altogether, Catholic and other M.P.s may support an amendment to the law which restricts the number of abortions permitted, provided that they have made known their clear opposition to abortion at all stages and avoid giving scandal (Evangelium vitae, n. 73).
God bless,
Nick
