What should I do for her for Christmas?

Should I send her anything else along with the card? Like a CD or something? Not really sure what kind of music she likes, since she doesn’t like “favorite” questions. Perhaps a CD of Christmas music? I don’t know. Oh I know! She reads books by Scott Hahn. Any good books/CD’s by Scott Hahn that you would recommend as a gift?
personally, i would go simple - like chocolates or flowers. plus its more romantic…
unless - you know exactly the book or CD! coz she might have read the book or own it already… same with the CD!

I’ve seen this girl a few times, and things have been going rather well. We’re seeing each other again after the holidays, since we’re both going to be visiting family out of town. I was just wondering what I should do for Christmas. I was thinking of sending her an e-card or something. I ended up texting her happy Thanksgiving for Thanksgiving. Should I call her on Christmas? Things are at that stage where it’s hard to define, you know? Thanks in advance!
An E-CARD?!?!?!
:banghead:
Hopeless! This generation is hopeless! Here’s an idea! How about you send her a REAL CARD! No, not a ‘card’. nah, how about a LETTER! Hmm? One that you wrote yourself?

Honestly, if you love this young lady, you ought to at least show it by spending some time on her!

Boy there really is a generational gap going on here… I see nothing wrong with an e-card. I’m 33, so is it the folks my parents’ age who are having a problem?

I mean, an e-card, which does take time to personalize, and an e-giftcard to a favorite retailer… that would be a nice gift!

Agreed, I don’t see why my generation is “hopeless” because we like ecards …

Haha, hold your horses, old timer! I do like her lots, but it’s still very early on, so the last thing I want to do is to scare her off. That’s why I’m trying to keep it light, as far as this is concerned. I just got her address (see my last post in this thread), so I’m going to get the card tonight, and mail it out tomorrow. I will certainly write a short and sweet message on the card, but I think that’s as far as I will go at this point. Plus I’m going to get her something else when I go back to visit my folks for the holidays, and I’m going to give that to her when I see her again after the holidays. I guess that leads to my next question. What would be something good to get her? My folks are in central Illinois, so what’s something special I can get her that Illinois is known for?

Eli’s cheesecake… but that’s based in Chicago. Your folks might be able to get some, though.

Thanks, basilisk. What about a teddy bear wearing a shirt with my school logo, which has the name of the state? I can probably get it at a school bookstore at my college. I was townie, by the way, so it wouldn’t be too hard to make the trip.

Well, since you’re heading to Chicago anyway, can you stop by Gino’s East and bring me back a slice?

Quick question, does your lady friend say “Illinoi” or “IllinoiS”? My FI, born and raised in Memphis, says the latter. Drives me up the wall, but he says the “s” is on there for a reason, and darnit, he’s going to pronounce it!

(I’m not from IL, but I have family there: Schaumburg, Elmhurst & Gurnee. I’m from the rest of the cornbelt: NE/IA.)

Oh, the teddy bear idea is cute.
