Assalam brothers and sisters (if there ARE any sisters on this forum),

I have a problem and I need some help if any of you can help me INSHALLAH!
There are two people that I love very much (my mum and my girlfriend…who I’m going to marry :D) and both are not muslims…even worse my girlfriend isn’t even from ahle-kitab! She isn’t even a jew or christian! She is agnostic. So that is even worse. Yeah. So my question is:
How can I help them and guide them to believing in the oneness of God and that Muhammed (pbuh) is his messenger?
I appreciate everything everybody. 👍

I really dont know .

The following site is really nice in answering question

www.islamonline.net

best regards to you brother in your life and afterlife.

salam aleikum

Hey bro, Salam.
I understand what you’re going through as I was in a similar situation a few years ago. My only advise to you is to try and have a discussion with them about religion, life, purpose etc…don’t force your views on them but put the questions out there and measure their receptiveness to it. In the end it’s their choice to make and you should be prepared to accept it either way.

It’s also important for the girl you want to marry not to convert for your sake, but because she also believes in it

Keep in mind it’s human nature to sometimes want something even though it may not be the best for them and to dislike something even though it may be better.

If you feel the girl will not convert it’s best to cut your losses and move on.

If you are serious about your Deen, then I would also advise against mixed faith marriages if the girl happens to be Christian or Jewish, even though this is allowed in some schools of thought, it’s not a good idea especially when you become a parent and have kids together. It’s important for the parents to be on the same page when making decisions about how to raise their kids. When it comes to raising kids, you wouldn’t want to be in a situation where you have to chose between forcing your wife to accept something or making compromises on a religious requirements.

all the best,

wasalaam
Jazakallah khair brother. The girl is agnostic bro, but that is even worse.
thanks for the advice, may Allah reward you 👍

Here you go Zaki - this is a good post for you.

You went from being a Christian, to an islamic muslim, and our brother George Sword reminds me to tell you about Jesus Christ.

Drop islam, it’s false, go and study Christianity and let the Lord Jesus back into your heart. 👍

As far as you and your “haram” girlfriend. I still don’t care, it’s your life and it’s up to you and your parents to guide you. I’m a simple poster here in CAF, and not your parent.

May Jesus guide you back to Him.
Firstly, the term isn’t an “islamic muslim” it is a “muslim”.
Secondly, I have been following islam for almost two years now without any troubles and I can tell you that THIS statement " Drop islam, it’s false, go and study Christianity and let the Lord Jesus back into your heart". Isn’t just gonna make me go “wow she is definitely right, I should drop islam and become a christian right now!” 😛

Hi Zaki, I didn’t know that you are only 15 years old, I would appreciate if you tell us how your knew Islam, however, back to your question, “guide them to believing in the oneness of God” I think its easy, “believing that Muhammed is his messenger” I think its difficult, because there are many things in our life that point to the existence and oneness of God, maybe you can start by gathering your beloved ones in the weekend and watch this film/documentary about God’s Word, I’m certain it would move something within them, let them see God’s love & miracles for the human beings.

But for Muhammed’s part, I think that would be difficult to prove, because simply asking them to read Muhammed acts in the books of hadith could backfire on you, however, a personal question to you, did you read the books of hadith (Bukhari & Muslim) yourself?
I’m violating quite alot of rules here…😦 I don’t know. I need to rethink about my relationship then.
I was thinking about marrying her once we both turned 18, but things may change.
Yes as jakasaki mentioned, you are in violation and sinning according to Islamic faith.
Thanks for the advice 👍 So maybe I should drop this girl (which won’t happen soon unless she cheats on me or I cheat on her-which won’t happen either bcz we care about each other heaps and if I do drop her soon, it’ll be done with alot of pain).
:tsktsk: No Zaki no, not because you care about each other, BUT because your faith should prohibits you form doing so…
your 17? Your not religious AND you don’t have a girlfriend?
Come to Australia, mate-I’ll hook you up nudge nudge hehehe.
:dts:Zaki, where is your Islam!!!, how come you invite someone to sin while you are a Muslim, however, I’m in my third decade, still Virgin, and don’t have a girlfriend, does that makes me odd also!!!

My advice to you is to stay on CAF, don’t just leave us, you will learn more and more about the true face of Islam and Muhammed, which will help you at the end to find the true path.

According to islams rules you are in violation.

No girlfriends are allowed

No dating is allowed

No mixing with the opposite sex is allowed

You need to “lower your gaze” - not look at the opposite sex.

Since you are male, only “women” of the “book” are available to muslim men. Jew or Christian.

You are only 15 years old, what are you doing thinking about marriage?
I know a lot about this issue and I’m not going to say why but the advice here is absolutely 100% correct. There is no dating in Islam it is totally forbidden. In fact there’s a whole process of courtship in Islam I know because I have firsthand knowledge of it. Please pray and educate yourself about marriage and the courtship process in Islam. Seek help and advice from your local mosque as soon as possible. You are very young consider this matter carefully because marriage is a huge responsibility.
In the meantime here’s a link that gives an overview of the courtship process in Islam.

Rather than teaching him about Islam and calling ourselves Catholic, why don’t we try and give him some more pointers on why Christianity is a much more solid and true faith than Islam? As much as I would like to help, my knowledge of Islam is slim to nothing at best.

Well for one the reason that I don’t do that is because he is well aware of Christian teachings and the Bible and his profile says he converted to Islam from Christianity and he reads the Bible. I’m not going to sit by and just do nothing because I don’t think I’m going to convert him especially when I have the knowledge necessary to help him because I don’t think that’s what Jesus would want me to do. I could not stand in front of Jesus with a clear conscience if I decided not to help him. Okay your knowledge of Islam might be limited and you might not be able to help but some of us can because we have the necessary knowledge to do so.

The love between individuals is a reflection of God,
for I tell you God is Love.

People exist to love God, the greatest expression of this love is to want the best for their fellow human beings.
For there is no greater love that a man should give his life for the brethren.

A leader of the Jews, Moses prayed that he would be damned if it would save his people.

A leader of the Christians, Saint Paul prayed that he would be accursed if it would save some of the brethren.

For the Lord it was’nt a prayer but a reality,
for He who knew no sin became sin for us that we may be saved.

“Look in the mirror, and behold, the work of our Lord’s hand.”
