What Should I Do With This Artbook?

Last year, I got a large book with art from, at the time, one of my favorite video game series. But since then, I’ve started to dislike the series for its sadistic nature and other negative aspects of the games. The character design and art style in itself is really interesting, but the moral aspect of the games is turning me away from the series.

I’m leaving for college on Friday, and I need to figure out what to do with the artbook. I don’t want to keep the book: I don’t have any use for it, and I’m not as supportive of the series as I used to be. I also don’t want to give the book away: I don’t want to introduce the series to anyone who doesn’t know about it, and I don’t think it does any good to give the book to someone who does. And it was around a $40 purchase paid by my parents, so it seems wasteful to throw it out, though that may be my best option.
It’s nothing serious or anything, but do you guys have any suggestions? Thanks in advance, and may God bless you all! 😃

Get rid of the book so that no one else is influenced negatively by it! Your thought is good about this.

Do not think twice about the $40. spent on the book.

Just sell it off. College towns have lots of used-book commerce.

If it cost $40, you might get $15 for it, and no amount of cash goes amiss in college.

I would just throw it away. I had a friend who invested a great deal of money in astrology/New Age books. When she converted, she tossed them all. She realized that she could get a lot of money out of them, but it wasn’t worth spreading darkness to get it.
 
Recycle it, sell it to Half Price Books, or give it to Goodwill. It depends on how bad you think the content is…but I’m guessing it is inoffensive enough that you could resell it or give it to charity without any qualms.

I think you’ve given valid reasons to throw it out.

I think you should do more than simply toss it out. You should destroy it so that it will not fall into the hands of others and for your own personal accountability. I used to own a book which was required for one of my law classes which had an “unChristian-like” title. Even though the book in and of itself was harmless, the Holy Spirit led me to destroy it simply on the basis of the title. I learned that evil spirits can attach themselves to anything in your home that is unGodly.

Get some credit for it at a used book store, Ricky! 👍 Then buy something you like with the store credit. 🙂
