Hi, I have a sin on my conscience that I have not confessed and when I usually go to confession I forget it. My priest told me that if I forget a sin during a confession, that sin is already forgiven by God and that I should not tread on it. It was not a mortal sin since I believe I did not meet the terms fully for it to be a mortal sin (and I was young). What should I do and was my priest right?

Hi,

We are not required to confess venial sins when we go to Confession. An act of contrition will do. Your priest was correct on all counts.
