What should I wear?

I am being confirmed this Easter, what should I wear? Is it okay to wear a blouse and slacks, or should I go further and wear a dress? Help! LOL I don’t know what I should wear…

Personally, i would say to wear a modest dress.

Easter Vigil, and receiving the sacraments is a really big deal, and deserves the best.

Wearing a dress to church is always appropriate. Congratulations!

My wife and I were received in September… She chose to go very traditional… White gloves, white vale, white dress.

The choice is yours, of course.
 
Once you are baptized they will be clothing you in a white garment so it won’t matter what you have on as long as it is nice and presentable for mass.
 
Any pastel colored dress is generally the norm at my parish.
 
I’m really having a hard time finding something, everything has black in it…LOL

Coldwater Creek and Ann Taylor have some pastel dresses right now. 🙂 Also, Eddie Bauer’s “crinkle dresses” are nice and you’ll wear it again (and again and again and again).

Modest dress, wicked undergarments and sunglasses baby. Sunglasses.

ask the director or catechist. Here ladies are asked to wear a dress or suit, or skirt and top, ordinary professional wear, with a stress on modesty, and dress shoes. Men are asked to wear dress slacks and shoes with button down shirt, jacket and tie are optional. Color is not really an issue. neither are sunglasses, it will be after sundown. No Gum In Church is my other rule

Coldwater Creek is out of my price range I think, and the others would never carry my size…lol
 
Wear whatever you have that looks nice. I, for one, would look horrific in a pastel dress.:eek: I’m planning on a light grey skirt and a medium blue blouse. Don’t go spend a lot of money you don’t have–I’m sure you’ve got something nice.

My shoes will be black. 😛 It’s ok if there’s a little black–just don’t look like a funeral.

If you were going to Windsor Castle to meet the Queen what would you wear? If you were going to the Whitehouse what would you wear? And why?

I think you know the answer about what you should wear. Whether you do or not is up to you.

This is a special occasion, so I’d dress accordingly with a modest dress or skirt and blouse, and dress shoes. For my own confirmation (as an adult), I wore a modestly-cut dress which had small pastel flowers on a cream-colored background. I don’t see a problem with wearing some black, even a black skirt with a white or colored blouse, although I wouldn’t wear all-black. If money is tight, don’t feel that you need to go out and buy a whole new outfit – you might have something in your closet right now that would be appropriate and flattering. You might ask your RCIA director what she/he recommends.

Coldwater Creek has an “outlet” online with some great price reductions on very pretty things.

Otherwise, just modest, “Sunday best”! God bless and congratulations!

Well, I am male, and I wore a skirt for my Easter Confirmation. :eek:

Yup, a knee length pleated wrap-around skirt in a tartan pattern, sometimes referred to as a “kilt”.:rolleyes:

Also white shirt, black tie, over-the calf hose, and those special “Mary Jane” style dress shoes once worn by the Highland Regiments up to World War II:D
